Our Curriculum Vision

Our Curriculum Vision

Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of our learners here at Linton Primary School.  We aim to make it active, creative and challenging.  The promotion of  the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development  as well as both the Physical & Mental well being of our pupils pervades our curriculum.

We focus on preparing those in our care for the responsibilities and opportunities that lie ahead through developing the qualities of Perseverance, Resilience, Independence, Tolerance and Truth.

Our school curriculum is broad and balanced in all learning and other experiences.  We follow the programmes of study set out on the basis of Key Stages in the statutory National Curriculum. (Click here for more information.)

Assembly takes place each day in school with achievement assembly taking place each Friday.  Our assemblies are planned around Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development and Personal, Social, Health & Economic education.

We deliver the National Curriculum through a mainly topic based approach.  Children and staff to contribute to planning our learning experiences.  We aim to broaden and deepen pupils knowledge and understanding through making strong cross curriculum links at every available opportunity.  We follow guidance from the PSHE Association for Personal, Social, Health and Economic education and RE is taught in both Key Stages 1 & 2.

Everything we do here at Linton Primary School is guided by our school vision to support our children in becoming aspirational, successful citizens and life long learners.

We promote the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs in all aspects of school life.  These are evident through examples such as our elected school council, regular visits from the community police officers, clear expectation for behaviour and visits to and visitors from different groups and charities both within and beyond our local community.
