School uniform plays a key role in providing a sense of belonging and identity and sets the appropriate tone for the high quality of education we aim to provide. Our uniform gives children and their families choice. We recognise the need for it to be affordable and not be a barrier to attendance. We also recognise that many of our children have sensory needs and are happy to discuss adaptations to uniform in this circumstance.
Uniform options are as follows:Â
Sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan: Navy blue or red - plain or with the school logo
Polo shirt or round neck t-shirt: White - plain or with the school logo
Trousers, shorts, skirt or dress: Grey, navy blue or black (Children may wear jogging bottoms or leggings if they find these more comfortable.)
In the summer term a blue or red gingham dress may be worn.Â
Footwear: Our children do not wear shoes when in the school building. Parents can provide them with a pair of plimsolls or sensible slipper, or many choose to just wear socks. Children should wear shoes suitable for outdoor play to come to and from school.Â
PE: School will provide each child with a PE kit that stays in school. Children may be asked to bring a tracksuit or jogging bottoms and top to school for outdoor activity during the colder months or when travelling to off-site sporting events. Parents will be asked to provide a swimming costume and towel during the term their child swims.
Forest School; We will provide all children with appropriate clothing and footwear for forest school sessions.Â
Please make sure all items of uniform are clearly labelled or marked with your child’s name.
We have a selection of second-hand uniform in school – please just ask.
Hair: We ask that hair styles are tidy, not extreme and that long hair is tied back.
Jewellery: Children are allowed to wear a watch and up to one pair of small stud earrings provided the child can remove these themself for PE. (Staff are not permitted to remove earrings so children must be able to undertake this themselves.)
