Visits
For new parents and carers joining our school community for the first time, we invite you to work with us in a partnership to make your child’s time here rewarding and fulfilling.
We do not plan specific Open Days, but rather encourage and welcome visits during the school day, so that you can see school ‘in action’. We believe this is the best way for prospective parents, no matter what stage of their learning your child is at, to get a ‘feel’ for the school and enable them to decide if it is the right provision for their child.
To arrange a visit please contact Christine in the School Office on 01670 860361. The children, staff and I look forward to meeting you, and would be delighted to show you around our small, but perfectly formed school.
Admission Procedures
Once you have made the decision that Linton is the right setting for your child, you will need to follow the correct procedure to secure their place.
Nursery Admissions
We offer up to 30 hours of free eduction for ALL children from the term after their second birthday. Please contact the school office at any time in advance of this to request an application form and return this to us directly.
Reception Admissions
Parents wishing to request a place for their child at Linton Primary School must complete an online application form which can be found HERE (click link) - parents must do this even if their child already attends our Nursery.Â
In-Year Admissions / Transfers from other school / Managed Moves
If you are considering changing your child’s school placement, please contact us first to arrange a visit to Linton and an informal discussion about your child and what we are able to offer them. Many parents choose to move their children to our school due to our small class numbers and bespoke teaching style. This is often helpful for children who find the noise level and busy environment in larger schools overwhelming. We are very open to supporting families in this situation, but ask that you allow us to work through this process with you and your child’s current school to ensure the best possible transition. We will likely guide you to completing one of the forms on THIS PAGE (click link).
Completing Forms
If you do not have access to the internet at home please feel free to call in so we can support you with this in school, or visit Ashington Library, located in Ashington Leisure Centre, Lintonville Terrace, Ashington.Â
Children from Linton Primary School transfer to a variety of schools at the end of Year 6.
For further information or guidance contact the school office or the Northumberland school admissions team on 01670 623559.
