Whilst we have now moved on from the Covid school closures of 2020/21, there are still times when, due to an emergency situation, school may not be able to open. Examples of this would be things such as extreme weather or boiler breakdown in school.
On such days, we would provide remote education for our children to minimise the learning lost. Whilst online learning will never replace face-to-face lessons, we are commited to ensuring we provide our children with education on the 190 days a year that they are entitled to.
All of our children are familiar with logging into their Google accounts. This is where learning would take place should children not be able to attend school. We would use Google Meet to deliver live lessons/get togethers, and set and review work in Google Classroom. This is an entirely secure platform.Â
We are fortunate that every child has their own allocated Chromebook in school and in a case of moving to Remote Learning we would ensure these were delivered to homes where they were needed. We would also ensure all families had copies of children's usernames/passwords.
Should any familes not have wifi, they should inform school of this asap so we can keep and record and know that we need to support with this as well.
