Maths

We work to develop confidence and mental fluency in maths. We use Abacus Active Learn scheme of work and plans as the framework to teach the National Curriculum. Mrs Mason teaches the number aspects of maths and Mrs Pape teaches the shape, space and measure work.

  • Worksheets
  • Investigations and problem solving
  • Computer software
  • Games

Key Stage 1 pupils also use our role play and the outdoor area to carry out maths in context. We include maths in our cross curricular lessons – such as measuring dinosaurs, making charts and graphs.

Children have access to our learning platform where they can carry out homework tasks on Nortle ‘I am learning’ tool. Active Learn also offers home access to practice skills and improve mental fluency.
